For the Western Bay of Plenty, including Rotorua, 100-140mm expected from 11:00am Friday 11 July until 3:00am Saturday, with peak rates of 20-30mm/hr. For the eastern Bay of Plenty, 70-100mm of rain is expected from 6:00pm Friday until 6:00am Saturday with peak rates of 20-30mm/hr.

Every October, schools, workplaces, marae and whanau take part in the national, ShakeOut earthquake drill and tsunami hikoi.
We all know the sayings, 'Drop, Cover, Hold' and 'Long or Strong, get Gone', but practising these actions are important and help our muscle memory kick in when an event occurs, even in a very stressful situation.
By knowing what to do when unexpected events happen and how we can best keep ourselves safe, we can reduce the risk of injury.
This year's Shake Out and tsunami hikoi is taking place at 9:30am on Thursday 16th October.
